Genoa transfer market, Martinez towards farewell: all the names for the new goalkeeper

Inter have decided to focus on Martinez, Genoa’s goalkeeper, as a reinforcement for next season. With the exclusion of Oristanio from the negotiations, the Nerazzurri are looking for a direct economic agreement. The goalkeeper’s valuation is around 15 million euros, a figure that could also satisfy Genoa, who bought him for just two million two years ago.

Genoa looking for a new goalkeeper: Kotarski in pole position

With the possible transfer of Martinez, Genoa must find a new number one. There are two options on the table: invest in a young player with experience or borrow a veteran. Among the names that have emerged, that of Pietro Terracciano, 34 year old from Fiorentina, represents an experienced solution, but his transfer depends on the Viola club’s willingness to let him leave.

The most concrete option seems to be Dominik Kotarski, a 24-year-old Croatian from PAOK Thessaloniki. Having made over 50 appearances in the championship and Conference League, Kotarski is highly appreciated, so much so that even the CEO of Genoa, Balsquez, confirmed his interest in a recent interview. His price is growing and could reach 8-9 million euros. Kotarski, freshly champion of Greece, has a solid background in the Ajax youth sector and has already made his debut with the senior Croatian national team.

Genoa transfer market: Leo Roman and other options

Immediately behind Kotarski, Genoa have shown interest in Leo Roman from Mallorca, who had an excellent season on loan at Oviedo. However, Genoa’s initial offer was rejected and competition from Getafe, Valladolid and Rayo Vallecano makes the operation complex. There release clause of 10 million euros represents a further obstacle.

Another option, although less likely, is the Japanese Shuichi Gonda, currently employed by ST. Truiden. The negotiation appears complicated and its prices are falling. Finally, the most modest alternative is represented by Stefano Turatiwhich at the moment remains only a secondary possibility.

The transfer market is in full swing and Genoa will have to move astutely to find the ideal replacement for Martinez, while Inter hopes to close the deal for the Grifone goalkeeper soon.
