Pescara hosts the General States of Information, promoted by Anci Abruzzo, the Order of Journalists of Abruzzo and the Union of Journalists of Abruzzo

The goal is to lay the foundations for the new regional law on publishing through a shared document from which to start working together with the Regional Council. The National President of the Order of Journalists Carlo Bartoli and the Deputy Secretary of the National Federation of the Press Domenico Affinito also participate in the States General.

Among the other topics on the table, the tools and measures to support the exercise of the associated functions in the field of institutional communication, the interventions to support the information system in the internal areas and small municipalities of our region.

“For some time now, in fact, – we read in the introductory note of the event – the sector has been experiencing a situation of severe crisis, which risks undermining the right-duty of citizens to be informed and, therefore, the democratic stability of our country. This is even more true in Abruzzo, where in recent years we have witnessed a serious impoverishment of the information system, with the closure of editorial offices and newspapers, even suddenly from one day to the next, which has been accompanied and is accompanied by increasingly widespread precariousness”.

For this reason, in addition to the institutions and the world of information, the entire civil society was invited to participate in the meeting, from the world of economics to that of volunteering.

The day will open, after the institutional greetings, with reports from the President of Anci Abruzzo Gianguido D’Alberto, the President of the Order of Journalists Stefano Pallotta and the Secretary of the SGA Ezio Cerasi, followed by the scheduled interventions and the opening of the debate.
