According to VideoCardz, a Slovenian retailer has recently opened pre-orders for four of the upcoming processors AMD Ryzen 9000. This is the first European pre-order for the Zen5 desktop series which is expected to include some of the best processors coming out in 2024. Although the shipments they will not start before August 2ndopening pre-orders the retailer in question has revealed the prices of the new Ryzen which turn out to be a pleasant surprise. The new Ryzen processors will in fact be cheaper than the Zen4 models on their debut.

Let’s start with the top model, the Ryzen 9 9950X da 16 core what does it cost? €659,90. Immediately after we find the Ryzen 9 9900X da 12 core it will cost €499,90while the Ryzen 7 9700X da 8 core will be available for €399,90. Finally, the cheapest Ryzen 5 9600X da 6 core will be sold to €309,90. These prices, reported by Slovenian retailer Funtech, show a obvious price reduction compared to models prior to their launch.

If we compare the launch prices of the Ryzen 7000 and 7000X3D series with the official prices announced for the Ryzen 9000 series in Europe using the German price lists for simplicity, it is clear that Ryzen 9000 series will be less expensive across the board. For example, with a price of €660, the 9950X will even be cheaper than the 7900X or 7900X3D models when they launch. However, it’s important to note that since that debut, both models have become much cheaper, with the flagship 7950X3D currently selling for €519. This means that the 9950X will cost €90 more than the current price of the 7950X3D.

The following graph includes Funtech pricesbut it’s important to note that this retailer offers many variants for each processor, so we’ve chosen the lowest prices.

AMD Ryzen (AM5) Desktop Series Core Clock massimo TDP Price (Launch) Current price
Ryzen 9 9950X 16x Zen5 5.7 GHz 170W €660
Ryzen 9 9900X 12x Zen5 5.6 GHz 120W €500
Ryzen 7 9700X 8x Zen5 5.5 GHz 65W €400
Ryzen 5 9600X 6x Zen5 5.4 GHz 65W €310

New processors generally hit the market at higher prices soon after their official launch, but if the experience with Ryzen has taught us anything, it’s that prices will be quickly adjusted. It is also expected that the 9000X3D series will be available as early as September and with very interesting innovations. Another point to consider is that the 6-core model may be the hardest to sell at the moment, with a price difference of almost €120 compared to the 7600X, but it should be noted that we are only talking about one retailer.

It remains to be seen whether the prices will actually reflect the price lists of other European vendors. If so, we would be happy to see an unexpected price reduction that could favor the diffusion of the new Ryzen 9000 making them more attractive to many users looking for a good price/performance ratio.
