Thursday, July 4th at 8.45 pm, in the Anpi hall in Piazza dell’Abbazia 10 in Borgo San Dalmazzo, the Anpi Borgo e Valli presents the posthumous book by Gastone Cottino “All’armi son fascisti!”.

Cinzia Dutto talks with Amedeo Cottino and with the magistrate Livio Pepino.

The book presents itself as a letter from a partisan to the new generations, to bear witness to the damage of yesterday’s fascism and to recognize the signs of today’s fascisms.

Gastone Cottino, born in Turin on 8 February 1925, at the age of 18, after 8 September 1943, joined the Turin Resistance against fascism in the ranks of the Young Liberals. He then joins the Patriotic Action Team “Mingione” with the battle name Lucio. On 26 April 1945 he was among the partisans who attacked and liberated the municipal building of Turin. Jurist, university professor, member of the Academy of Sciences of Turin and member of the Accademia dei Lincei, always a member of the Anpi, died in Turin on 4 January 2024 at the age of 98.

Sunday 7th July Anpi Borgo e Valli then invites you to commemorate the massacre of 6 July 1944, when 10 prisoners (2 civilians and 8 partisans) were shot by the Germans and their bodies were found on the tracks of the Cuneo-Demonte tram, near Tetto Gallotto.

The appointment is at 10.30 at the Borgo cemetery where the commemorative ceremony will take place. At the end, a laying of flowers at the memorial stone in via Cuneo (Borgo Mercato area).
