A surprise decision, capable of surprising anyone: a case has been opened in the Prosecutor’s Office in Padua with the hypothesis of manslaughter regarding the death of Vera Slepoj, disappeared during the night between Thursday 20th and Friday 21st June at the age of 70.

The news was reported by the “Corriere del Veneto”: nothing led to predict such a turn of events, so much so that the funeral seemed already scheduled for this weekend, and instead the funeral will most likely be postponed as the autopsy will have to be carried out on the body of the famous psychologist, found lifeless by the maid. The cause of death was immediately traced back to an illness, but now, with the opening of the file (in which they are not currently under investigation), the necessary tests will be conducted to confirm or deny this hypothesis. The local newspaper recalls that Vera Slepoj – whose family relied on the lawyer Massimo Munari – was in good health and that in recent months she had only carried out a few knee infiltrations.

Vera Slepoj graduated in Psychology in 1977 from the University of Padua. She defended a thesis entitled “Deviance and control mechanisms in a current society”. Her culture and skills over the years have also led her to have excellent media visibility. Among other things, you coordinated a column in the magazine Riza Psicosomatica, one of the most appreciated periodicals in the branch of national psychology. She also made numerous appearances in newspapers where she played the role of editorialist in several newspapers, always proposing psychological insights in the face of news events that have characterized the last years of history. She also had a commitment in politics first with the National Alliance at the European elections in 1999, then with the UDC in the Senate in 2006. Demonstrating the flexibility with which Vera Slepoj carried out her profession with the utmost passion, she had a psychological consultancy role also in the world of sport in the ranks of Palermo Calcio in the 1999/2000 season. His roles as president of the Italian Federation of Psychologists and of the International Health Observatory and his teaching at the University of Siena for Sociology of Health are prestigious.
