Even a historic event like the Rof adapts to the present, in an ideal marriage between music and technology. The Digital Rof, created on the occasion of Pesaro Capital of Culture 2024, was born on the basis of the common desire to strengthen the cultural and musical vocation of the city combined with the technological innovation of the House of Emerging Technologies of Pesaro. Rof Digitale is created together with Rainbow Cgi and Sinergia Epc, partners like Rof itself of the Cte (financed by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy), and has the aim of producing multimedia content which, through Virtual Reality technology, is address the widest possible audience.
The mission
«On the occasion of the online dissemination of our new website, created by Simbiosi, we wanted to present our new communication project which is aimed not only at the public of enthusiasts, but at an even wider audience. – explained Rof general director Cristian Della Chiara – Together with our partners, we have created high-tech multimedia products that will be accessible online and also in the viewing points that we will create in the theatrical venues of the 2024 Festival and in the venues of the Salons Rossini, musical evenings held in some historic villages in the hinterland. Not an alternative modality, therefore, but an additional one. Technologies that will also flow into a training project, such as Crescendo per Rossini, created for the little ones, with an app of interactive games».
The contents available
Two contents are currently available: the first is that of Sinergia Epc which has scheduled the filming of the events of “Playlist Rossini, A concert long a year”, the series of concerts from the balcony of Rossini’s birthplace that the Festival organizes every Saturday at 7 pm, retracing the entire catalog of the composer’s works. The concerts are recorded live using 360° filming technologies with ambisonic audio and available on VR viewers. The second project is the one with Rainbow Cgi, again with the support of Sinergia Epc, and presents a 360° immersive content lasting 5’40” with a strong emotional impact dedicated to Gioachino Rossini, entitled “Dreaming Rossini”, in which the exciting virtual journey takes place through the eyes of a magpie.
The more experts will have the task of identifying the objects combined with each of Rossini’s 39 operas, the staging of which ended last year with the return of Eduardo and Cristina to the public. After the experience at the Mostra del Cinema, in which some films were shown in VR mode, the Rof Digitale therefore brings together some public and private excellences of the territory as underlined by the president of the Rof Daniele Vimini: «a project that marries culture and technology , an example of the enormous contribution that collective experiences such as that of the CTE can bring to our city in terms of growth at all levels.” Obviously these are contents that can also be used through normal screens or simple cardboard viewers applicable to mobile phones, but the VR experience allows for a unique emotion: «a total immersion in the environment and in Rossini’s musical production, discovering the works and places of composer from Pesaro with engaging and innovative methods”, as underlined by Luca Modugno, Digital Heritage Innovator in Rainbow Cgi.
