The prefect of Grosseto, Paola Berardino, received accompanied by the provincial commander of the Carabinieri, Sebastiano Arena, a contingent of Carabinieri from the “Cacciatori di Calabria” heliborne squadron, who are currently carrying out anti-drug operations. The prefect expressed great satisfaction with the anti-drug operations conducted in recent days by the provincial command of the Carabinieri, which led to the flagrant arrest of three people, found in possession of narcotics, as well as the recovery of approximately 700 grams of cocaine, 500 of hashish, 30 of heroin, and over 20 thousand euros in cash, the result of forest dealing activities. During the operations, knives and machetes and other dose packaging material were also seized. Finally, three buyers were reported as drug users. “I express great satisfaction – said the prefect – for the important anti-drug operations carried out by the Carabinieri. The work of the hunters is an example of commitment and high professionalism. The sharing and planning of controls, within the Provincial Committee for public order and safety, demonstrates how, with the collaboration of all the actors involved at multiple levels, a decisive and effective response by the State can and must be pursued against any type of crime”. “In this context – concludes the prefect – the results obtained demonstrate the constant and intense commitment of the police in combating drug dealing”.
