Torre del Greco – Feast of the Four Altars: the Youth Forum meets the artistic director Gigi Di Luca
With a meeting between the artistic director of the Festival of the Four Altars, Gigi Di Luca, and a delegation of the Youth Forum with its president Alfredo Izzo, in the presence of the Mayor’s staff, the misunderstandings and questions raised regarding participation were definitively resolved of young people at the Feast of the Four Altars. The discussion took place in a positive climate of collaboration and planning in which both parties expressed their willingness to follow up on the program already planned by the artistic director. During the Feast of the Four Altars, young local artists will have a space of their own to express themselves. This event, of great historical and cultural importance for the city of Torre del Greco, will therefore offer a showcase to the new generations. Based on the program and the will of the artistic director Gigi Di Luca and the Municipal Administration, the Youth Forum will be able to carry out its own artistic project on one of the three days of the festival. “This collaboration represents an important step to continue the process of recovering the festival already started with schools and to actively involve young people in the celebrations. The new generations represent the essential gaze on the present and the future, which we cannot do without. They are a value and a necessity.” So Gigi Di Luca outlines the path to take together. “Our goal is to collaborate and dialogue with the city and the institutions by bringing new ideas. Our intervention in the fourth commission was not intended to give rise to political exploitation of any kind. Our desire was to bring out a space for young people. We are happy to have found an agreement with Di Luca.” Thus declares the president of the Forum Alfredo Izzo.
