CASTELNOVO MONTI (Reggio Emilia) – Bad weather has hit the Reggio Emilia Apennines hard. The foothills and the first mountains were the areas most affected by the piogalready in the last few hours. Gatta-Pianello is currently closed, the objective of the municipality of Castelnovo Monti is to reopen the roads as soon as possible. Two bridges collapsed on the Tassobbio stream: the first in the road that connects Canossa and Castelnovo Monti in the Gombio area, the second in the artery that connects Canossa to Vetto. Here a sinkhole was created and the Canossa administration closed the road. Cars ended up underwater in Magliatica and Casa Talami, in the municipality of Baiso. Two provincial roads interrupted: the 19, at Ponte Secchia, and the 98, at the bottom of the Tresinaro valley. In Toano, ten houses are isolated in the Lupazzo hamlet, while in La Svolta the road is closed due to a landslide but no houses are isolated.
