The decision to open Le Crete comes from the desire to have a place all his own, but also “from practical family matters, which allow me to manage my time better” he confides to us. And so, with the support of his wife Beatrice Mencattini, an expert in gastronomic communication, he finds his ideal environment in the spaces of a former pizzeria by the slice, a stone’s throw from the front door.

Le Crete is a small and intimate shop, a counter for products, two stools, shelves that house wines and beers. “I wanted to open a neighborhood restaurant with a simple, genuine and Tuscan proposalsuitable for different types of customers“, says Pietro. You come here for a quick lunch, choosing between dishes prepared following family recipesor leaving work in the evening and finding dinner ready to take away.

The proposal follows the seasonalityAnd “fun and sustainablein terms of raw material, social, personal and management“. In summer it is always available tomato soup or some first course with seasonal vegetables. And then there are the meatballsalso these with vegetables and lampredotto, obviously to be tried with the green sauce, the anchovies under pesto and those who in Tuscany are called black croutons, made from chicken livers.
