Louis Dassilva was interrogated at the Prosecutor’s Office in Rimini for 8 hours. The only person under investigation for the death of Pierina Paganelli, who initially seemed to have made use of the right not to respond, instead spoke to the investigators of the flying squad and the deputy prosecutor Daniele Paci. Dassilva, neighbor of the woman found dead in Rimini, arrived in court this morning shortly before 10am accompanied by his defense lawyer Riario Fabbri, and consultant Roberta Bruzzone.
It is not yet clear what Dassilva said but he will certainly have clarified some statements already made in the past when he had only been interviewed as a person informed of the facts. Only at the end of the interrogation will it be possible to understand whether his position is defined in some way. At the beginning of the interrogation, prosecutor Paci explained to the sole suspect what the charges are, generically listed against him. Voluntary homicide with a series of aggravating circumstances excluding premeditation.
Probably in the change of defense strategy which on the eve of the interrogation was supposed to be of no collaboration with the prosecutor’s office, the news released yesterday of an imminent new interrogation of Manuela Bianchi, Pierina’s daughter-in-law who could give new and more complete information to the investigators. Meanwhile, the judge for the preliminary investigations, Vinicio Cantarini, has scheduled the hearing for the evidentiary incident as requested by the defense of the only suspect.
The hearing will be held on June 28th in court in Rimini. On Friday the judge for preliminary investigations will appoint a consultant to carry out unrepeatable tests on the crime scene exhibits.
