An unprecedented city, shot from above between fog and sunset. These are the first images to leak of Lucca Mortiscurrently only an unofficial title of the film Peter Greenaway. Footage shot by a drone that makes up an original business card for investors who have approached – or who could approach – the production of the film, even if they will not necessarily become part of the work once it is finished.

In fact, some talks are underway between the already known Philip Leethe producer investor Enrique Drescher and some local and non-local entrepreneurs, who could become part of the architecture of the cinematographic work, whose overall budget today amounts to 20 million euros. The occasion is the return for a week – from tomorrow (26 June to 2 July) – of the cast and protagonists, Dustin Hoffman and Sofia Boutella, to complete the film.

“A planned and necessary return – explained the producers – to perfect some scenes and be able to best package the film, which will be released in 2025 and will be presented at international festivals. For the occasion, a special preview event will be planned in Lucca.” Still though The official title of the film is not known will be released in theaters, which will also be affected by distribution choices. The soundtrack is instead entrusted to Luca D’Albertoa musician from Abruzzo who is very popular in cinema, so much so that some scenes from the film were first ‘composed’ and then filmed.

“If it were to remain, as per the director’s wishes, Lucca Mortis – comments tourism councilor Remo Santini – the name of our city would have a unique opportunity to appear on big screens around the world. But anyway we had the privilege of previewing some sequence shots shot with the drone over the roofs of the city and we were literally left speechless. It’s an honor to have Dustin Hoffman and the whole crew here again for the last shots: this film represents a huge opportunity for Lucca. I therefore thank all the people who worked and who will work on the film in the next few days.”

Studio and outdoor shooting are scheduled for this week, with different areas of the city gradually affected: from Piazza Antelminelli to Piazza San Salvatore, from Via Guinigi to Piazzale Arrigoni. This will also lead to some changes to traffic and parking. For residents of the affected areas, the possibility of parking for free in the blue bays will return.
