The cast of the film returns to the city for a week Tower Stories – Lucca Mortis by Peter Greenaway. These are some shots necessary to complete the production of the film, which has a total budget of 20 million euros and will be released in cinemas in 2025.

Talking about this new phase of the works this afternoon (June 25th) at a press conference at Palazzo Orsetti were the tourism councilor Remo Santini, the producer Philip Lee and Enrique Drescher-producer investor. The bond that has been established between the city of Lucca and the entire team that revolves around the Greenaway film is intense. The relationship of collaboration and friendship culminated last April with the awarding of the city’s medal to the director and the actors, thus sealing Lucca’s recognition for what represents the largest cinematographic project to have ever involved the territory.

“We had the privilege of seeing a preview of some sequence shots shot with the drone over the roofs of the city and we were literally left speechless – states councilor Santini – it is an honor to have Dustin Hoffman and the whole crew here again for the latest filming: this film represents a huge opportunity for Lucca, especially if the name of the city is confirmed in the definitive title.”

Studio and outdoor shooting are scheduled for this week, with different areas of the city that will be gradually affected: from Piazza Antelminelli to Piazza San Salvatore, from Via Guinigi to Piazzale Arrigoni. This will also lead to some changes to traffic and parking.
