National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the metropolitan city of Milan is moving rapidly towards its objectives. In the first half of 2024, another 8 construction sites started in 4 municipalities of the metropolitan area, which are part of PINQuA – National Innovative Program for the Quality of Living.

Thanks to the PNRR, the Metropolitan City benefits from funds of 30 million euros distributed across 22 interventions and 8 Municipalities as implementing entities. In total, there are 19 construction sites now open in all 8 municipalities involved. The PINQuA program consists of interventions that mainly concern public and social residential construction, the reuse of public areas, spaces and buildings and the improvement of the provision of services and urban infrastructures, with a high quality of the projects from an environmental point of view and with the aim of reducing housing hardship and promoting social inclusion.

Legnano – Former Casa del Balilla
Restoration and redevelopment of the historic building of the Casa del Balilla, with recovery of the gym and changing rooms on the mezzanine floor and creation of spaces on the first floor for meeting rooms and for the control center for the telemonitoring activity of 682 SAP accommodations in the municipalities of Legnano, Parabiago and Rescaldina.

Legnano – Building via dei Mille 12
Energy requalification and structural renovation of an early 20th century building to locate social residential housing characterized by the co-housing formula (such as common living rooms and laundries) and green leisure areas in the courtyard. Among the objectives of the intervention is to preserve the typical courtyard typology of the Lombard building tradition.

Legnano – Building via Galvani 3
Recovery of a real estate complex from the early 1900s, acquired as a confiscated asset, with the construction of social residential housing in the central area of ​​the city. The intervention is aimed at preserving and enhancing the typological peculiarities of the Lombard courtyard house, with its outdoor conviviality space which allows for the creation of moments of aggregation and mutualism between family units.

Parabiago – Ex Rede bridge building
Redevelopment of the “bridge” building of the former Rede hosiery factory, now abandoned, to host an Urban Mediaspace; info point; municipal branches; library; conference/concert spaces; family space with activities for children/adolescents; theater room; laboratories; multimedia and technologically equipped spaces; exhibition and museum spaces.

Pieve Emanuele – Expansion of the Vocational Training Centre
Redevelopment of approximately half of the second floor of the multifunctional building in Via dei Gigli to accommodate the expansion of the AFOL Metropolitana Professional Training Center and the creation of a space for co-working and courses. The AFOL school currently occupies the ground and first floors, but expects to reach 300 students.

Pieve Emanuele – Cycle-pedestrian walkway
The intervention involves the construction of a new cycle/pedestrian walkway that directly connects the cycle/pedestrian paths of the ID 461 intervention and the neighborhood with the city center. The planned walkway, with a width of approximately 43 metres, includes two cycle lanes and one pedestrian lane and will allow the crossing of the existing SP 28 and the future route of the SP 28.

Pieve Emanuele – Cycle-pedestrian connections
Creation of a protected cycle-pedestrian connection that crosses the logistics area to the east of the neighborhood, along Via Nenni and Berlinguer and which reconnects to the network of existing cycle paths connected to the railway stop (Line S13 of the Passante Ferroviario in Milan).

Rescaldina – Corte Torre Amigazzi
Restoration and redevelopment of a historic courtyard and the adjacent market square for the construction of intergenerational co-housing units. The project also includes some neighborhood commercial activities and a series of services, including a cultural center, widespread library, neighborhood concierge and co-working.
