MESSINA – Almost 70 years of career as a renowned chef. The beginnings on the beaches of Mortelle and then, from the end of the sixties, managing the restaurant of the exclusive Hotel Riviera also in Messina. After a short illness and surrounded by the affection of his family, he passed away suddenly Giovanni Siclarian appreciated figure in Sicily in the catering and events sector.
In the period between 1972 and 1982, Siclari worked at the restaurant of the Hotel Europa. In 1982 you inaugurated the Siclari gastronomy, also becoming a point of reference for rotisserie in Messina. He also started, in the nineties, with the role of director, “La Risacca dei due Mari”, “Villa Musco” and then in 2015, supported by his niece Denise, the Eco Resort “Borgo Musolino”, on the Peloritani mountains.
In his professional career, he has also been a proud ambassador of Sicilian cuisine traditions in countries such as Australia and Tasmania.

His family remembers him like this: “Giovanni Siclari also trained dozens of cooks and chefs. A man with a kind soul and a contagious smile, he was always well-liked by all those who knew him or worked alongside him. He cultivated his passion for cooking from a young age, making it an art, and he always looked at the good in things and people.”
The funeral will be held today Tuesday 25 June, at 4.30 pm, in the Ganzirri church.
