MESSINA – In the early morning hours today, i Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Messina they conducted a vast operation in Sicily, Calabriaother localities in the area national And abroad.
The operation led to the execution of precautionary measures issued by the GIP of the Court of Messina at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office against 112 people. Of these, 85 are recipients of pre-trial detention in prison And 27 to House arrestof which 3 are under the care of the Sicily Regional Investigation Unit of the Penitentiary Police.
The suspects are believed to be involved, in various capacities, in the crimes of “association aimed at the possession, trafficking, cultivation and sale of narcotics”, “self-laundering”, “fraudulent transfer of values”, “illegal carrying and alteration of weapons”, “extortion” and other crimes.
The restrictive measures derive from the results of three separate investigations conducted by the Carabinieri of the Messina Sud and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto companies, all under the coordination of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Messina. The investigations took place simultaneously dismantled several criminal organizations active in drug trafficking in the city of MessinaIn the Barcelonan and in Nebroid and Tyrrhenian areas of the province, with connections with Calabrian criminal structures and subjects also active in Campania, Lombardy and abroad.
