Lots of news, among the squad and technical staff, for the State Police team
Serie A Elite: six new players for the Fiamme Oro ph. Luigi Mariani
In the 2024/2025 Serie A Elite season, Fiamme Oro Rugby will see the addition of six new players, as winners of the competitions for access to the Fiamme Oro Sports Groups. These are mainly athletes from regions of Central and Southern Italy and all but one were born in the 2000s.
There are also some new developments in the first team staff. Matteo Galluppiafter a season spent between the youth sectors and the first team, will take on the role of assistant coach. Michele Fabianiwho has 9 seasons with the Fiamme jersey since 1992, will be the skill coach of the XV of the State Police.
The latest news from the technical staff will be Marcello Cipriania physical trainer with experience in volleyball, judo and obviously rugby (federal qualification) will instead become part of the staff responsible for physical preparation, together with Michele Sepe and Simone Andreucci.

Serie A Elite: the names of the new Fiamme Oro signings
The new faces of the State Police team are:
– Richard BartoliniFlorentine prop born in 2003 (183cm X 110kg) from the Accademia delle Zebre Parma.
–Diego De Rossialso Tuscan but from Livorno, hooker of 184cmX107kg, born in 2003, arriving from Sitav Rugby Lyons Piacenza.
– Alessandro Filonisecond line of 200cmX124kg, Roman born in 2003, also coming from Sitav Rugby Lyons Piacenza.
– Fabio Morosiprop born in Milan in 1999 (188cmX128kg), who played in the last Serie A Élite championship with the Sitav Rugby Lyons Piacenza jersey.
– Alberto Nicitawho grew up in the Fiamme youth team, Ragusan prop from 2002 (182cmX115kg), coming from Civitavecchia Centumcellae.
– Nicola Piantellaalready with Fiamme since the middle of last season, second line born in Bassano nel Grappa in 2001 (198cmX107kg).
In addition to these six athletes, there are also Ferdinand Fusari (centre back born in Rome in 2004, 185cmX95kg), winner of the competition announced at the beginning of 2024 and who played his last season with the Rugby Roma Olimpic Club shirt, and Alessandro StrampelliRoman flanker born in 2003 from Villa Pamphili who played in the Elite Cup in the crimson shirt, added to the first team as an outside player.

“It is an honor and a privilege for a policeman to hold this position: being the coach of the State Police team has always been my goal, ever since I started coaching the youth sectors in 2015” declared the new coach of the Flames Gold.
“I am very happy with the new additions: we have strengthened the first and second lines a lot and, given that with the return of the Coppa Italia we will have many games very close to each other, this will give us the opportunity to operate a turnover during the season to better manage the players. I have already met the new arrivals and they are all very motivated guys and, above all, proud to have become part of the Polizia di Stato and Fiamme Oro Rugby. We can’t wait to start this new season” concluded Daniele Forcucci.
