SAN GIOVANNI IN FIORE – The 16th edition of the Trofeo dei Tre Mari, for the women’s category, goes to Campania coached by Piscopo and Donnarumma thanks to a 2-0 without appeal in the final against Fipav Sicilia at the Palafiore. Victory also for the under 16s of Monfreda and Leone who came from behind to beat Puglia 2-1 in the final for the podium played in the gym of the Technical Commercial Institute of San Giovanni in Fiore. At the bells Irace, Rulli and Russo an individual prize. The Cup destined for the best Federation fades by just one point: Campania second with 11 points, beaten by Fipav Sicilia who placed first and second.

Balanced start in the first set, then Rulli’s dunks and the inaccuracy in receiving by the Sicilians gave Campania a good margin (15-10) and despite the return of their opponents in the central phase (19-17) Piscopo’s girls did not lose calm and with the block they regain altitude and win without worries: 25-18. Sicily started better in the second set, with three aces and some imperfections in receiving the bells, which however their opponents overcame twice (from 10-7 to 14 all, from 19-16 to 20 all). Rolli at the net and Russo serving are decisive in the final: it ends 25-21. The women’s Campania team is champion of the “Tre Mari”.
