Santa Marinella, sports facilities: the replica by Tidei and Ferullo

Regarding the press articles relating to sports facilities, the Mayor Pietro Tidei and the Sports Councilor Marina Ferullo intervene to reiterate and definitively clarify what was stated previously.

“Regarding our declarations relating to the sports facilities – state Tidei and Ferullo – and the specifications on the regularity of the construction sites opened in the area surrounding the Municipal Stadium, we would like to specify and clarify the following: it was not and is not our absolute intention offend anyone, least of all the “Spirito Libero” association and its leaders and associates for the organization of that event mentioned by us in the press statements. Our intent was to reiterate that for many years the Municipal Stadium was left in conditions of unusability and abandonment, for multiple reasons and responsibilities, and obviously certainly not for causes to be blamed on the association, and on that specific event.
Therefore, regardless of any current political controversy, we reiterate our good intention in clarifying the issue, that we have certainly conveyed a wrong message, interpreted incorrectly, since we know very well that the association has absolutely not received the sum of 200 thousand euros but rather of a simple contribution of 10 thousand euros (left as a deposit) for the success of the event. Just as we have reiterated several times that the Spirito Libero association has no direct responsibility in that situation.
Far be it from us, therefore, and from the undersigned, not to recognize the merits of any association which, out of charity and a spirit of aggregation, works in the area with high-level events. We apologize, therefore, if that sentence was perceived as directed towards them, when obviously it is not. In fact, it is not part of our way of operating and relating, unlike those who managed the sports sector in the past, abandoned and neglected for years due to personalisms without any reason to exist. We are convinced that this writing of ours is sufficient to definitively close this controversy and continue to work for the good of the city, renewing our apologies to those who felt involved without any reason in the heat of the political controversy”.
