Pride, Roberti: no offense, just instrumental controversy

Instrumental. The President of the Region thus criticizes the criticism following his speech during the final rally of the centre-right mayoral candidate of Campobasso. From the stage in Piazza Pepe, Roberti on Friday evening had highlighted the political distance of his side from the Pride “where they go dressed like clowns”. A phrase that immediately sparked a controversial reaction, especially on social media. Yesterday afternoon the note in which the governor returns to his statements. «The phrase extrapolated, however devoid of offensive connotations, from a broader speech at the end of the Campobasso electoral campaign, did not call into question either the LGBT community or even Arcigay – clarifies Roberti – It was only underlined that, whenever When Gay Pride takes place, in any square in Italy, we witness a parade of completely gratuitous insults towards the representatives of the institutions and, in particular, towards the political representatives of the centre-right. Lastly, let us remember the Rome Pride events of last June 15th and June 2023, when, in the presence of members of the Democratic Party, among others, the president of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, and the group leader were heavily insulted of Forza Italia in the Senate, Maurizio Gasparri. It is therefore not surprising that Arcigay came to the aid of the Democratic Party in closing the electoral campaign, despite there being no references to the LGBT community and Arcigay in the speech. For this reason, words must be included in the context of reference. In fact, the meaning of what was said referred precisely to the fact of how the center-right is different from the Democratic Party, since the Dems use that demonstration to insult their political opponent. The centre-right, in this respect, is different from the Democratic Party, because it distances itself from this way of doing politics. It would be appropriate to ask regional councilor Micaela Fanelli, accustomed to raising her tone, what she thinks of the insults directed at the prime minister Giorgia Meloni and all the mothers, on the occasion of the last Pride parades, in the presence of some of the leading exponents of the dem, without forgetting those addressed to the singer Arisa in 2023, after some of her appreciation towards Giorgia Meloni and, therefore, ousted by the organizers of the Milan Pride. It would also be appropriate to ask you what you think of the religious blasphemies that have characterized various Pride events. In conclusion, only a political exploitation of words artfully extrapolated to make people believe that the centre-right is not inclusive, compared to a centre-left, which, given the latest electoral results, is increasingly desperate”.
