Toto Rossini at the Champions Ceremony

VILLADOSE (Rovigo) – The evening of next Thursday 27 June will be enriched with a further piece and a real pearl, which will see Villadose in Piazza Aldo Moro the closing of the volleyball activities of the 2023/2024 season with the classic Ceremony of Champions.

The exceptional testimonial of the event will be the athlete Salvatore “Toto” Rossini.

Libero, former Italian national team and long-serving in Modena, Rossini now plays in A2 with Virtus Aversawhere he started in B1, after his first stint in the youth teams of Top Volley Latina.

Born in Formia in 1986, he made his debut in A1 in 2011 with Gabeca Pallavolo Monza, in the first of his twelve seasons in the top flight of Italian volleyball.

In the summer of 2012, coach Mauro Berruto received his first call-up to the senior national team.

With the blue shirt it’s immediately love and wins two bronze medals at the World League, the silver medal at the European Championships and the World Cup.

And in 2016 it offers one of the greatest emotions that a volleyball fan can experience: the silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games.

In 2014 he entered the temple of Modena Volley with which, in six years, he won two Italian Cups, three Italian Super Cups, a Scudetto and a CEV Cup, before returning until last year, after a brief period in Trento.

Off the field, he followed in his father’s footsteps by graduating with an engineering degree, is married and has a son.

On Thursday he will be a very welcome guest at the evening which will celebrate Polesine volleyball and will share his experience with all the athletes and enthusiasts present, recounting out loud the main stages of his long adventure at the net.
