Valtesse antenna, Carrara (Lega): «It must be moved or resized»

The antenna that suddenly appeared in the Valtesse neighborhood of Bergamo continues to arouse discontent and the issue has also reached the city council, where the Northern League member Alessandro Carrara presented a question today (Monday 24 June) asking for it to be moved or downsized.

The antenna between the houses

The antenna was raised hastily, within a few hours, last Monday 17 June between the tennis club courts, near Via Bravi, and is used to make the 5G network work. The land is owned by Immobiliare Valverde and the president of the board is Franco Togni of Automha, from which the reassurance came that everything was done in accordance with the law, with checks on environmental and health safety.

No notice to residents

Statements that evidently did not convince Carrara, who was notified of the situation by several residents, who complained about the lack of previous notices, even in the construction site area, to inform citizens of the arrival of the antenna. Nothing would have arrived even from the neighborhood networks of Valtesse, San Colombano and Conca Fiorita, which affect via Bravi, where the houses near which the plant is located are located.

«The structure has a strong visual impact that disfigures the landscape, some properties could lose value – explained the opposition councilor -. Residents are also worried about the environmental impact that the structure could have and about possible negative repercussions on their health and that of the young people who attend the sports centre. The neighborhood is full of less densely populated areas, therefore certainly more suitable for receiving this structure.”
