Eimantas Bendzius he will not be part of the Lithuanian national team in view of the Pre-Olympic. The wing of Dinamo Sassariwho had played three friendly matches with the B team against Lebanon to test their condition and more, remained outside the list released late yesterday evening by the Baltic federation.

Despite the intense months of work to recover from the rupture of his Achilles tendon which occurred last September while wearing the Lithuanian national team shirt, Bendzius will have to give up trying to lend a hand to his teammates in view of the Pre-Olympic in San Juan. Lithuania is in group A and is one of the probable opponents in the second phase of Spissu’s Italy, which will begin its journey in group B of the mini-tournament which will take place in Puerto Rico and which will give a place at the Paris Games. Bendzius should therefore be immediately available for the start of the Sassari season, which will start in mid-August with early preparation in view of the Qualifying Rounds in around mid-September. The dates and pairings of the climb to the BCL will be certain starting from Wednesday 27 June, when the draws will be carried out by the competition board.
