(24.06.2024) Another tricolor medal for Eleonora Favarettothe third of 2024. Yesterday – Sunday 23 June – in Lana, Alto Adige, the 18-year-old from Badoere di Morgano won silver in the Italian junior multiple event championship.
The promising athlete of Team Treviso, product of the inexhaustible Quinto Mastella Athletics academy, scored 4885 points in the heptathlon, a personal record. “L‘the objective was to confirm the Italian title won in this quest‘winter and was missed because the 100 hurdles didn’t go as planned – explains Eleonora -. Second place, accompanied by my record, is still an excellent result. Now there‘the objective is next weekend’s overall championships and then the category tricolors”.
Favaretto trains in Vedelago together with the coach Elena Soligo who, in the athlete’s preparation, also coordinates the work of other technical specialists. During the winter, among the juniors, Eleonora had first won the Italian silver in the high jump and then the gold in the pentathlon, the first Italian title of her career.
Lana’s second place is the result of these partials: 15″92 in the 100 hurdles, 1.73 in the high hurdles, 9.53 in the shot put and 25″54 in the 200. On the second day: 5.61 in the long run, 29.83 in the javelin and 2’27″26 in the 800s.
For Favaretto it was the fourth heptathlon held as a junior: the final score expresses an improvement of 51 points compared to the 4834 points achieved on May 4th in the regional race in Bovolone. The progression towards 5000 continues.
At the Assoluti della Spezia, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, Team Treviso will present seven athletes: in addition to Eleonora Favaretto in the heptathlon, the Italians will compete Adele Toniutto in the javelin (season record 48.27) and Riccardo Ganz in the 400 hurdles (53”33) and the Women’s 4×100 composed by Caterina Belli, Francesca Bergamin, Eleonora Filippetto and Elisa Maria Menegotto (47”04).
