“With the approval of the Calderoli law in the Chamber Italyone and indivisible born from the Resistance, is on its way to becoming the country of inequalities, with increasingly marked distances between North and South, between internal areas and urbanized areas. This is stated by the Regional Coordination of Basilicata against Differentiated Autonomy, made up of political forces, trade unions, associations, committees, which expresses concern and strong dissent on a project which risks irreparably compromising the principle of universality of rights, especially in particularly delicate areas such as, for example, healthcare and education by highlighting the critical issues of a model of regional federalism which does not take into account huge differences existing today in the different areas of the country and above all the gap in terms of wealth, infrastructure and services.
“Differentiated Autonomy – underlines the Coordination – it will undermine the functioning of the national education system but also of other public services, from healthcare to infrastructure, from ports to airports and then roads and motorways, justice of the peace, civil protection, thus undermining the stability of the country and marginalizing the most vulnerable and defenseless. We don’t give up and we will continue the actions of peaceful struggle that the Constitution allows us and we ask that the Regions appeal to the Constitutional Court on the basis of article 127 of the Constitution. Furthermore, from now on we are willing to set up referendum committees for the collection of at least 550 thousand signatures on the referendum question that the constitutionalists will finalize as proposed by La Via Maestra and to support all judicial initiatives to prevent the Regional Presidents from reaching agreements, also and above all with the help of the mayors”.
