Morgese illustrated the associative path undertaken by the board of directors during the 2023/2024 financial year:

“In 2023, the funds collected during the year and disbursed to the Dermatology Unit of the Santa Maria delle Croci Hospital in Ravenna were paid to the families affected by the floods, amounting to €13,106.30. We have also carried out several occasional fundraisers (ROF = Occasional Fundraising): – ROF HEART AWARD €8,696.00; – ROF CHRISTMAS NIGHT €10,229.00; – ROF CHRISTMAS HEART AND DANCE euro 2,295.00. The flood emergency, which hit the Emilia-Romagna region, and the Romagna area in particular, will also generate a significant social impact that requires a careful response from the entire community.

For this reason, the “Cuore e Territorio” Association, with the support of Ravenna24ore, has promoted a fundraiser and stands alongside the institutions to support and strengthen proximity services, assistance and intervention in favor of fragile families, whose condition is aggravated by the flood emergency with greater need for help and proximity. For this reason, a fundraiser was started, with an initial allocation of €20,000, donated by those who promptly joined the project: the Esp shopping center of the IGD group; Mitsubishi Electric Europe BV the “19th Company of the School of Inspectors and Superintendents of the Guardia di Finanza of L’Aquila”.

Specific to the individual actions, the Esp Shopping Center donated €10,000 to the population affected by the flood, through special “gift cards” that can be spent at all the shops in the shopping center (including Extracoop). The Shopping Center itself has made a space available to our association, inside the gallery, to manage an operation to find and distribute material useful for cleaning and removing debris. At the collection point in Esp, we received donations from over one hundred associations, companies and private individuals.

“Heart and territory”, with the support of the Il Fatto Quotidiano Foundation, launched a fundraising campaign in favor of the population of Romagna, affected by the flood, with proceeds of 35,967.01 euros entirely donated to the flood victims chosen with the collaboration of the Guardia di Finanza Regional Command of Bologna, Emilia Romagna Carabinieri Legion Command of Bologna.

The Council of Volunteer Associations of Ravenna with the collaboration of the Cuore e Territorio and Terzo Mondo ODV Association, saw the subsequent collaboration of many other Associations that shared its purpose and objective. There are 75 volunteers who have provided their activity in recent months. Volunteers from Heart and Territory and from the Third World but also from Byzantina Ravenna, Clama, Punto d’Incontro Francescano, 8 marzo women’s association of Porto Fuori, National Association of State Police, il Sorriso di Giada, Alice. and many freelance volunteers. Serafini continues: we will project the associative objectives of the new three-year period to involve civil society so that the conditions are created in Ravenna for a university center for specialists, especially in the cardiology field and a complex rheumatology center in Romagna”.
