Yet another work accident in a company in the province of Latin. Valerio Salvatore, a 29-year-old worker, was working on the roof of the warehouse on June 21 to fix an electric cable when the roof gave way while he was walking on a piece of asbestos. The boy takes a ten meter flight, rescue starts but despite resuscitation attempts, there was nothing that could be done for Valerio.
The pain of friends
Valerio Salvatore, originally from Villa Gordiani, lived with his partner in Rome and would have turned 30 in July. As Romatoday reports, Valerio was a huge Roma fan and very active in volunteering. In 2018 he obtained the BLSD instructor certificate to have the necessary skills to teach cardio-pulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. He had attended the electrician school at Don Bosco on Prenestina.
There were many messages of condolence from the young man’s friends and the community, all shocked by the tragedy.
Erika’s post was particularly touching. Her best friend on Facebook wrote: «You promised me, remember? And you are someone who keeps his promises, no matter what the cost. Well, now I will have to be the one to tell a few things. I will tell my son about how much goodness, kindness and purity can exist in the world, even if sometimes you can’t see it, and I will tell him about You who always found it in everything, and you managed to make all the people around you understand it. I will teach him that despite all the thousand difficulties “life is beautiful” as you always said, that there is no point in wasting time getting angry and arguing over stupid things, that you have to enjoy every day, because I’m sure you would have done it in my place . I will tell him how much you already loved him, how much care you had towards me, how much you worried. I will tell him about the faithful and pure friend you were, about the brother and companion of a thousand adventures, about how much love you managed to convey to me even with small gestures that in reality were giants. I will teach him to never take anything for granted, because when you love a person you don’t need to say it in words, but you have to demonstrate it, daily. Thank you for being the best friend I could ever wish for. And that you will continue to be, because as we said: A TRUE FRIEND IS FOREVER. »
The Carabinieri of Lanuvio who are now investigating to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the tragedy and the staff of the workplace prevention and safety service and the ASL.
