CARPI. An argument that started in the street and quickly degenerated into a horrifying episode. Yes, because the attacker first tried to run over the victim, a 28-year-old, then convinced her to follow him home where he grabbed a pair of scissors and tried to hit her several times – fortunately only slightly succeeding – and finally he chased her with a chainsaw. It all started on Tuesday around 4.30pm.
The witness
The 28-year-old was driving along Via Fornaci, in the direction of Carpi. When he reached the intersection with the state road to Correggio, he slowly entered the road because the traffic was at a standstill. At that point, the other man passed him and he asked him from the window where he was going, receiving a rude response. The 28-year-old continued on his way, until the vehicle driven by the other man returned behind him: «At that point – says GG – he followed me and rear-ended menot violently. I got out of the car to check the damage and he tried to run me over.”
The victim reconstructs those moments, explaining that he followed the other man in his car who, at a certain point, told him to go to his house. There, having entered the lane, the two men stopped: «He said to me: “I’ll kill you”. And he approached with a pair of electrician’s scissors, hitting me on the arm and scratching the door. To defend myself, I tried to push him away by putting my legs through the window».
The chainsaw
The 28-year-old got out of the car: “He took a chainsaw and started coming towards me, so I ran away in reverse.” The victim filed a complaint. Not without difficulty. «At the beginning – he explains – I went to the Carabinieri station in Carpi but I was sent away because they told me that a report from the hospital was needed. Yesterday morning (Wednesday, ndr) I returned with the certificate but was told that there was no one who could take the report; so I was sent away again, and I was told that I would have 90 days. At that point I went to the Carpi State Police Station where I managed to file a report instead».
