blue shirts in the street of the orecchiette in Bari

BARI – Adidas and FIGC together for another stop around Italy: this time it is Bari that is colored blue, after the tricolor lights in Milan and the giant shirt that appeared in Rome.

On the eve of the third and final match of the European Championship group, which will see Italy face Croatia to advance to the round of 16, Bari is filled with tricolor flags and national football team jerseys. Lots of blue jackets hanging on the balconies of the iconic Arco Basso street, also known as ‘the street of the ears’, a culinary specialty of the local tradition.

In the street – where the pasta stalls overlook – the pasta is made by hand according to a legacy that is handed down from generation to generation, such as the passion for the national team. For the occasion, the orecchiette also appear in a tricolor version: green, white and red. «A message – explain the organizers – which refers to the strong unifying feeling that the national football team brings with it».

Furthermore, throughout the day, a light blue Apecar – with the Adidas and FIGC logos on the sides – will drive around the streets of the city, between the fish market, the city seafront and Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
