THE PROJECT

In ten years, the initial investment of Antognolla Resort, which amounts to 173 million euros, will generate an added value of one billion and 155 million, of which 461 million in Umbria alone. Important numbers, estimated by the report “Impact evaluation of the Six Senses Antognolla Resort”, created with the technical support of PwC Italia.

Unpacking the data, we note that, in the construction phase of the Resort alone, every million euro of investment generates 1.3 of added value: from 173 million to 196. Of these, 68 million will constitute the direct added value, 82 million for indirect added value and 46 million for related activities. In the next three years – the deadline for the works is estimated at 2026 -, 3,106 jobs will also be created: 1,477 directly, 1,084 indirectly and 545 related activities.

We are very proud to be able to present the study of the impact of the project on the territory, carried out with the precious collaboration of an internationally recognized partner such as PwC.” – commented Andrey Yakunin, President of the Antognolla Board of Directors. “This analysis shows in concrete terms the benefits that Italy, but above all the territory of Perugia and Umbria, will obtain thanks to the project. With Antognolla Resort we intend not only to create jobs and generate added value at an economic level, but also to make Umbria an attractive hub for visitors from all over the world and a point of reference for luxury travellers”.

In fact, the impact that the Resort will have on the local economy of Perugia and Umbria is also significant: Antognolla, with a view to preserving the Castle, the crypt and all the historic buildings included in the estate, intends to involve mainly local workers and suppliers , who can boast an in-depth knowledge of the most suitable materials and techniques for working on 12th century buildings. Of the 143 million investment planned for the construction and construction phase of the Resort (the 173 already mentioned from which VAT has been subtracted), 55 million are in fact destined for operators active in Perugia or Umbria and it is estimated that they will produce 25 million euros of added value and 526 direct jobs.

In perspective, the annual local tourist expenditure stimulated by the opening of the Resort should amount to 114 million euros: to the 41 million average annual revenues of Antognolla Resort would be added 73 million of “collateral expenses” of visitors in the territory of Perugia and the Umbria. Great attention is also paid to sustainability: 75% of waste materials will be recycled, at least 50% of the energy consumed will be produced with renewable sources and rainwater will be used to irrigate the vegetation.
