From France visiting Olivola with Cia Alessandria

Six French farmers from the Champagne area were guests of Cia Alessandria as part of a project of educational company visits to increase skills, in collaboration with Cia delle Alpi.

The delegation, specialized in animal husbandry, after visiting some agricultural companies and biogas plants in the Turin area and in Valsusa, went to Olivola – the first and so far only Oil City in Piedmont -, inAgency Agricola Oliviera Of Anita Casamento, upon the express desire of the participants to see an olive-growing company. Accompanying them is the head of Communications and External Relations Cia Alessandria Genny Notarianni.

The farmers asked the company owner for a lot of information regarding the planting layout, the treatment and fertilization methods, the olive harvest, the plant diseases, the transformation of the product, the peculiarities of the extra virgin olive oil and the difference with other types of oil.

After the story of the landscape that earned it the nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a walk towards the gold-coloured Big Bench that Casamento installed adjacent to the company, the visit ended with a professional tasting led by the entrepreneur, specialized in dissemination and educational activities.

The French farmers expressed interest and appreciation for the company, Piedmontese agriculture and the territory, making themselves available to welcome the hosts for a cultural and educational exchange.
