Tragic road accident yesterday (Saturday 22 June) on the ring road in Bolognawhere a 54-year-old motorcyclist dies after losing control of his two-wheeled vehicle for reasons now under investigation. The passenger who was with him, a 39-year-old woman, was seriously injured, who was transported by ambulance to the Maggiore hospital, where she is now hospitalized with a reserved prognosis in the intensive care unit. The incident occurred in the evening, shortly after 7pm, at exit 12 (Mazzini-Bellaria) of the ring road in the direction of Casalecchio. The causes of the fatal accident are now being examined by Bologna Traffic Police officers, who are trying to reconstruct the last moments before the crash.
The reconstruction
According to one preliminary reconstruction of what happened, the 54-year-old would go to fatally crashing into the guardrail, losing his life instantly. It remains to be understood – this is one of the hypotheses being examined by the investigators – whether he had previously been hit by a car. On site, in addition to the highway patrols and the 118 health workers with two ambulances and two medical vehicles, also the firefighters for the rescue operations and subsequent safety of the road section.
