Voting returns on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June in three Sicilian municipalities. TO Caltanissettato Frost it’s at PachinoIndeed, the first round wasn’t enough of votes, because none of the people running for mayor obtained the 40 percent of the vote plus one vote. They will compete in Caltanissetta Walter Tesauro (centre-right) e Annalisa Petitto, supported by some civic lists, by the Democratic Party – but without a symbol – and by some centrist forces. In the first round Tesauro collected 10,052 votesthat is, the 34.42 percent of preferences, while Petitto 9000 votesthat is, the 30.82 percent of preferences. In the first round, 55.9 percent of eligible people voted.
Once the counting was concluded, we immediately started discussing who between Tesauro and Petitto would have the support of the outgoing mayor, Roberto Gambino. The exponent of the 5 Star Movement – who for these administrative elections was also supported by South Calls North – took part in the electoral challenge and came third: for him 8167 votesthat is, the 27.96 percent of preferences. On June 17 it became known that Gambino will not support either Tesauro or Petitto. It was made known, in fact, that the outgoing mayor did not find any agreement with either of the two people who made it to the ballot.
In Gela, in the province of Caltanissetta, the challenge will be between Grazia Rita Cosentino – supported by the centre-right and Italia viva – e Giuseppe Terenziano Of Stefano, supported by the centre-left, by the 5 Star Movement and by the South calls North. In the first round Cosentino collected 11,625 votesthat is, the 32.87 percent of consensus, while Di Stefano 10,348 votesthat is, the 29.26 percent. In the first round he voted 53.64 percent of entitled persons. Salvatore Scerra – mayoral candidate who came in third place in the first round (for him 8296 votesthat is, the 23.45 percent of preferences) – will support Cosentino, as well as some parts of the coalition he led, Alleanza per Gela; somebecause others have declared their support for Di Stefano. Miguel Donegani – he got it in the first round 2594 votesthat is, the 7.33 percent of consensus – after some meetings with Di Stefano, he announced that there will be no official support. Filippo Franzone – which he got in the first round 2507 votesthat is, the 7.09 percent of consensus – will support Di Stefano.
In Pachino, in the province of Syracuse, they have reached the ballot Rosaria “Barbara” Fronterrè And Giuseppe Gambuzza. The first is supported by some centre-left civic lists, by the Movement for Autonomy and by the Christian Democracy of New Sicily, while the second by the centre-right and the South calls for the North. In the first round Fronterrè won 4082 votes, i.e. the 36.52 percent of consensus, while Gambuzza 3508 votesthat is, the 31.39 percent. Emiliano Ricupero (centre-left) – which he obtained in the first round 582 votesthat is, the 5.23 percent of the consensus, thus coming fourth – will support Gambuzza. Sebastiano Fortunato (Brothers of Italy) and the civic candidate Giordano Di Raimondo Metallohowever, will not formally support either Fronterrè or Gambuzza.
