The two-day ‘I love San Giovannello’ event in Reggio Calabria

2024 marks the twentieth anniversary from the demolition from the houses to San Giovannello. To commemorate this important milestone, the San Giovannello Eremo Committee, in collaboration with the dedicated Facebook group, organized two days of events on June 22nd and 23rd.

The program of celebrations is as follows:

June 22nd

• 4.00pm: Inauguration of the photographic exhibition at the San Giovannello school complex. The exhibition will offer an insight into the history and evolution of the district.
• 6.00 pm: Celebration of mass in memory of all the deceased in the districtofficiated by Father Pietro in the school courtyard.
• 8.00 pm: Start of children’s games and opening of the box office with recreational activities.

June 23

• 10.00 am: Continuation of the photographic exhibition.
• 4.00pm: Events and games for children.
• 9.00 pm: Final concert with the participation of musicians from the neighborhood, both veterans and new.

The entire event will be held at San Giovannello school complexkindly made available for the occasion.

The initiative “I love San Giovannello” is not only an opportunity to remember the past, but also to strengthen the sense of community and belonging that characterizes the neighborhood.
