Pavia: steals food from the pantry of the association to which he was entrusted on probation

Pavia, 22 June 2024 – When it comes to ingratitude. A 43-year-old Italian man was reported on charges of aggravated theft: he allegedly burgled refrigerators and cupboards inside the premises of an association in which he had served, during a period of probationary custody.

The theft dates back to the end of May. After the complaint from the association’s leaders, the police officers carried out an inspection, noticing that the pantry had been abandoned an open drink. The forgetfulness proved fatal.

Suspecting that it might have been consumed by thieves, they requested the intervention of forensic police personnel who detected the Fingerprints, attributing them to a man. The investigations into the reported person made it possible to ascertain that that very man, subjected to the measure of probationary custody, he had worked as a delivery boy in the targeted association, distributing, collecting and delivering food and drinks. Tasks that he had accomplished using the keys to the building, including those of the warehouses where the goods are kept. It is probable, therefore, that he had made a copy of it, which was subsequently used for criminal purposes.

The prosecutor issued a search warrant for the 43-year-old which allowed him to be recovered stolen goods with a commercial value of approximately 3 thousand euros. All the material was returned to the association.
