State Police personnel carried out, as part of the extraordinary services arranged by the Police Commissioner of the Province of Cosenza Giuseppe Cannizzaro and coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, various checks in the city, aimed at combating drug trafficking. During these services, a person was arrested by the policemen of the Flying Squad and the local Flying Squad, with the help of the Northern Calabria Crime Prevention Department and the canine units of the Vibo Valentia Police Headquarters, as they were found in possession of an illegal weapon with its illegally detained ammunition, as well as the narcotic substance with suitable packaging material.
In particular, while the Agents were carrying out checks in the peripheral area of Cosenza, the scent of the police dog “Max” signaled interest in a specific apartment within a residence. Inside were found 18 grams of hashish, as well as material used for packaging, as well as finding a semi-automatic pistol cal. 6.35 with abraded serial number, complete with magazine full of cartridges, and other ammunition of different caliber, for a total of 32 cartridges.
