At the moment only verbal confirmation has arrived, given that Rai has not yet made it official, but the 2025 Festival should be offered from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 9th February.
The first confirmation arrived in the last few hours at the Ariston Theater in Sanremo, the home of the Matuzian singing festival since 1977. The weeks in contention for the first edition of the ‘Conti Bis’ at the Festival were the first two of February and, from Rai the first would be chosen.
With Conti’s return, the division between Nuove Proposte and Big will return and, therefore, already well-known singers will not enter the competition with two parallel competitions that will give two distinct winners. No elimination (Conti considers it ‘overcome’) and then the return of the Dopofestival which means the evenings close by 1pm and, consequently, fewer singers competing.
Some songs are already in the possession of the new artistic director who will certainly listen to many of them in the coming months. On an organizational level, we await the inauguration of the new mayor, who will certainly meet with Rai shortly to discuss the widespread Festival. In the meantime there is the date, then we’ll see.
