“We would like to underline and reiterate the commitment made to carry forward the urban regeneration project of via Toledo by the administration and councilor Sergio Parisi. A project that continues the work begun, again together with councilor Parisi, by the former president of the city council and current regional deputy, Giuseppe Castiglione, with the support of Luca Sangiorgio, the councilor Orazio Sciuto and the former president of the municipality Paolo Fasanaro”. Thus the city councilors Mpa, Angelo Scuderi and Daniela Rotella, together with the councilor Giuseppe Buglio, on the urban regeneration project of via Toledo in Catania which involves the creation of two multi-purpose synthetic grass football pitches in place of the pre-existing clay one, now in terrible condition, and the demolition of the former disused school, vandalized several times and without external perimeter frames.
In place of the building, a playground will be built with a large area equipped for children’s play and a space used for fitness, with furnishings to encourage the socialization of children and families. The area will be equipped with intelligent furnishings, benches and tables with a power socket for charging electronic devices via USB ports and wireless connection. Latest generation photovoltaic street lights with low environmental impact and two charging stations for scooters and electric bikes will be installed, with the aim of encouraging sustainable alternative mobility. A project is consistent with the Action Plan for Sustainable Energy (SEAP) of the Municipality of Catania, whose main objective consists in the definition of a programmatic strategy for reducing CO2 emissions. “This is – add the city councilors Scuderi, Rotella and Buglio – a project, like others that are redesigning the face of Catania, strongly requested by residents, which will allow children to be able to play freely and without danger in the municipal areas. Without a doubt a breath of fresh air for the whole neighborhood”
