Wednesday morning, i Carabinieri of Ortì they intervened promptly Terreti, Reggio Calabria, following a report from a citizen regarding a 79-year-old who had suffered a sudden illness. The elderly man was found lying on the road in a semi-conscious state.
Having quickly arrived on site, the military immediately alerted 118 via the Operations Centre. While waiting for the arrival of medical personnel, the Carabinieri, together with the man’s nephew, carried out the necessary first aid maneuvers. Thanks to their intervention, the elderly man was stabilized and subsequently transported to the local GOM, with his life out of danger.
This episode highlights the importance of the widespread presence of the Carabinieri in the area, especially in small communities and hamlets where they often represent the only point of reference for citizens. Their ability to respond promptly to emergencies, including medical relief, is a fundamental strength of the force.
