Trapani, memorandum of understanding to stop gender violence

TRAPANI – A memorandum of understanding has been signed with the aim of promoting the recovery of men who are perpetrators of violence. An act in support of Cuav, the Center for male perpetrators of violencewhich was inaugurated in Trapani by the provincial health authority.




The creation of the Cuav, entrusted to the management of the Italian Center for Family Mediation, was possible thanks to funding from the Regional Family Department.









The protocol, also signed by Health District 52 of which Marsala is the leader, had among other signatories Ferdinando Croce (Asp), Daniele Troja (Trapani Court), Alessandra Camassa (Marsala Court), Fernando Asaro (Marsala Prosecutor’s Office), Gaetano Paci (Trapani Prosecutor’s Office) and Rosanna Provenzano (Local Office of External Criminal Enforcement). The councilors Giusy Piccione and Donatella Ingardia spoke for the Administration of Marsala, led by the mayor Massimo Grillo.

In the presence of the bishop of Trapani Pietro Fragnelli and on behalf of the municipal districts, the greeting was brought by the Trapani councilor Giuseppe Virzì, who underlined the importance of primary prevention and operational synergy between the signatory parties of the protocol, with the hope of being able to reduce the phenomenon of violence in the area and build safer communities.




The Cuav can take charge of the mistreating subjects upon their autonomous request, upon dispatch by the lawyers, the judiciary, the police forces and the local social and health services. The objective is to help subjects in a work of reflection, awareness and responsibility.
