22.06.2024 – 07.30 – Important technical visit for the European Capital of Culture at Verdi Theatre Of Gorizia which hosted the theatre’s organizational staff The Phoenix of Venice, the Municipality of Venice, the Municipality of Gorizia and the ZPGŠ Association of music schools of the Slovenian coast. On June 19th a decisive step forward was taken cross-border project #GO2025PHOENIX, financed by the Interreg Italy-Slovenia program – Fund for small projects GO! 2025 and sponsored by the municipalities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica.
The inspection revealed the Teatro Verdi’s full compliance with the European concert scheduled on May 23, 2025 in which Venetian and Slovenian children will perform together with the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. At the end of the event, the innovative procession of the musical walk through Europe is planned in which the new generations will sing, in Italian and Slovenian, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy up to Piazza della Transalpina.
For the occasion, original sweets in the shape of musical notes created specifically for GO! will be distributed. 2025. The meeting was preceded by a warm welcome from Patrizia artigianato, municipal councilor of Gorizia delegate for GO!2025, accompanied by Roberto Cevenini and Cristina Mersecchi. For the Teatro La Fenice in Venice the staff was made up of Alessandro Fantini, Salvatore Guarino, Ruggero Peraro and Lorenzo Zanoni. Present for the project partners were the coordinator Vittorio Baroni, Bogdan Iustin Birnbaum of the Municipality of Venice and Alessandra Schettino, Councilor of the ZPGŠ Association and director of the Emil Komel school in Gorizia.
