Two Piedmontese experts have managed to reach the 6,961 meters of Aconcagua in recent days, completing an extraordinary cycle mountaineering adventure. TO Garessio, the Romantic Night returns to Garessio, in its ninth edition, organized by and in the “most beautiful villages in Italy”, of which Garessio is part. Starting from 7.30pm, a gastronomic walk through the streets of the medieval village, with 11 food and wine stops where you can find a dish, from appetizers to desserts, paired with the right wine for each dish. The walk is accompanied by acoustic music by small and large musicians and singers placed along the streets of the village. In conjunction with the event, the presentation of a new canvas by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the great Garessino designer, entitled “The Baptism of Jesus”, at 5.30 pm at the church of San Giovanni al Borgo, and in the square in front of it three historic prototypes marked Giugiaro. TO Castellino Tanaro there is the “Sagra della Lela”, a traditional summer festival in the month of June which enhances the typical dish of the Municipality of Castellino Tanaro, “La Lela”, a simple bread but with great personality and bearer of ethical values. The event is enriched with the market of typical products, photographic exhibitions, walks, visits to the tower and the Miss Lela competition and good music. Lela once meant “hunger” because it was the traditional peasant food, in the collective imagination linked to the economic difficulties that characterized this social class that often lived with difficulty and in poverty. During the holiday the town is decorated with colorful flowers. La Lela has recently become very well known thanks to national television broadcasts. “La Lela”, a poor bread, also called “last moment bread”, unleavened, shapeless and cooked on the stovetop. It will accompany tastings of local dishes including cheeses at the food stands. These are small last minute appetizers that are very easy to make and do not require an oven to cook. A film shot by the author Tiziana Fantino in ‘live’ walking towards the high altitude facilities and which focuses on the sustainable gastronomic offer proposed by the refuge managers of the Ligurian Alps. The story of the Cuneo film-maker shares with viewers images and videos of a fascinating area with its peculiarities and contributes to promoting and enhancing the mountain and its natural products.
