«I killed her but not for money. I didn’t want to attack her or rob her.” In the courtroom, in the trial in which she was charged with murder, Stefania Russolillo admitted to having killed her neighbor Rosa Gigante, the mother of the TikTok delicatessen influencer Donato De Caprio known for his catchphrase “with breadcrumbs or without ». The woman was found lifeless on 18 April 2023 in her chest in the Pianura district of Naples. The investigations soon focused on Russolillo, also thanks to the call that the accused made to her husband Lorenzo shortly after the incident: “Lory, Lory, I made a mistake.” In front of the judge, she writes the Corriere della Sera, Russolillo confessed to the murder but denies the investigators’ reconstruction of the money motive. In fact, up to that point there were no problems: «We had a good relationship with Mrs. Rosa, never an argument». According to what he reconstructed, the clash occurred at the height of an argument that arose for no apparent reason. «She asked me if the mail had arrived and I told her no. Then she attacked me”, says Russolillo now, in the confusion the voices rose, objects flew, then the shoving, “I slammed her against the wall. Several times, I don’t remember how many times.” But then the “darkness”, the memories become confused and intermittent: “I remember her trying to get up, then I don’t remember anything anymore, I certainly strangled her, but I don’t remember.”
