Paolo Vanoli has signed the contract which makes him in all respects the new coach of Torino: the press release

Now it’s official: Paolo Vanoli is the new coach of Torino. The club announced this with a note on its official website. On the morning of Thursday 20 June, Venezia announced the termination of the contract that tied the coach to the lagoon players until 2026. This is because Torino paid the clause that the Venetian club had included in the contract at the time of the agreement with the now former coach of the lagoon players.

The statement

Paolo Vanoli is therefore officially the replacement for Ivan Juric, who was greeted today by the Granata club with a note from the club. A few hours later the official version of the new technical guide appeared on the site. Below is the official press release:

The Torino Football Club is pleased to announce that from 1 July 2024 the technical leadership of the First Team will be entrusted to Paolo Vanoli. The coach has signed a two-year contract.

Paolo Vanoli was born on 12 August 1972 in Varese. Growing up as a footballer in his hometown team, he made his professional football debut with Venezia, in Serie B, in the 1993-94 season. During his career he wore, among others, the shirts of Hellas Verona, Parma – with which he won a UEFA Cup also scoring the second of the three goals with which Parma defeated Olympique Marseille in the final, an Italian Cup and an Italian Super Cup -, Fiorentina – with which he achieved his second success in the Italian Cup, also scoring a goal in the second leg final against Parma -, Bologna, Glasgow Rangers and Vicenza. For him also two appearances and a goal, against Belgium, for the national team. As a coach he began his career in the Veronese team Domegliara, in Serie D, from 2007 to 2009. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2017 he was part of the technical staff of the FIGC where he worked with various youth selections – in 2013 as Zoratto’s deputy he achieved second place at the Under 17 European Championships, while in 2016 he led the Under 19 team to second place in Europe – and also acted as assistant to the coach Gian Piero Ventura in his first year with the senior national team. He was later a technical collaborator of Antonio Conte, first at Chelsea (with the victory of the FA Cup) and then at Inter (finalist in the Europa League and then Champion of Italy in the 2020-2021 season). In 2021 he took on his first coaching job at a professional club, in Russia, at Spartak Moscow, winning the Russian Cup. In 2022 he joined Venezia where in two seasons he led the lagoon players from the penultimate place in Serie B to the recent conquest of Serie A.

President Urbano Cairo welcomes Paolo Vanoli with the most cordial “welcome to Turin” and with good luck. Good work, Always Forza Toro!
