“Anthropologists say that one of the main characteristics that differentiate humans from other animal species is the ability to blush. In other words, the ability to feel shame. In Treccani’s words, a “feeling of disturbance and discomfort aroused by conscience”. A feeling that, evidently, the Northern League members of Reggio are unable to feel, perhaps forgetting when, in response to the Honorable Regional Councilor Giovanni Muraca, they return to mentioning facts concerning the mayor Falcomatà, who, it is important to remind public opinion, is exclusively under investigation in a investigation whose documents demonstrate its total and absolute extraneousness to the criminal dynamics mentioned. Rather, it seems clear that the Northern League members are suffering from the so-called “double moral syndrome”. On the one hand they attack the municipal administration for an affair that is still far from being settled judicially; on the other hand, due to evident and incomprehensible selective amnesia, they forget the numerous members of their party investigated or sent to trial in proceedings for serious crimes. These also include the highest Calabrian expressions of their party, figures not even remotely touched by the idea of resigning”. “To the five naive Northern League members from Reggio – continues Reggio Bene Comune – who, in their ruminations in the press, set themselves up as expert analysts, advising others to study the terrible Differentiated Autonomy, we propose, rather, to read the very strong reservations expressed by the most excellent Constitutionalists on this issue or, even simply, to open the newspapers across half of Europe which this morning are reporting today’s very harsh reprimand from the European Commission on the flagship law of the Northern League. A provision which has incredibly received the convinced support of elected representatives in the south, including that of their “dante causa”, to use an expression so dear to them, Tilde Minasi, or of Simona Loizzo, the most voted for in our city who has even rejoiced by proudly displaying the Calabrian flag in the Chamber. Two figures who have publicly and joyfully expressed their full satisfaction with a law that splits Italy and condemns our region to an agonizing fate, our land, our rights and the future of our children sold to the law of the richest. Could it be that, as some national press articles state, Northern League Calabria is not characterized by the presence of “too many foolish servants”?
“It is certain – concludes Reggio Bene Comune – that when they want, the Northern League members of Reggio demonstrate that they know how to study very well. For example, and we are referring in particular to some of them, when they deceived the voters into voting for the centre-left precisely thanks to their proximity to the much reviled mayor Falcomatà, only to then move to the other side of the chamber, effectively betraying their electoral mandate . With what face do these gentlemen manage to sustain the gaze of their voters? It is clear, to return to the initial assumption, that the “redness” evidently does not belong to him. We suggest a leap of self-awareness after having become protagonists of a sort of “burglary”: they stole the consensus in the center-left, celebrating with the elected mayor by shouting “Reggio non si Lega!”, and then using their own “loot” in support of the policies of the Northern League! For consistency, we suggest, they should be the first to resign, resigning the electoral mandate and returning what they cunningly stole from the last municipal elections”.
