Civitavecchia – Massimiliano Grasso: “Via Fontanatetta, a symbolic place of Civitavecchia, will be named after Saint John Paul II”

CIVITAVECCHIA – We receive and publish the press note sent by the centre-right candidate for mayor of Civitavecchia Massimiliano Grasso: Saint John Paul II was the pope of the people. A special personality to whom Civitavecchia is very close, also given the recent inauguration of the statue dedicated to him in memory of the pastoral visit made on 19 March 1987.

In view of the Jubilee of 2025, and the contemporary twentieth anniversary of the earthly death of Saint John Paul II, our administration will welcome with great pleasure the proposal of the Civitavecchia 2000 association of Alessandro Scotto and the Mamre non-profit organization to name or co-name Via Fontanatetta after him.

The path chosen is not accidental, since it was precisely in that place that the statue of the Madonna, in front of which John Paul II himself gathered on several occasions in moments of prayer, shed tears.

Again, our Municipality, if I am elected mayor, will work personally with Arsial to define the issue of the new Pantano sanctuary from the point of view of ownership of the areas involved, so that the project for which it was the relevant process with the competent bodies has already been started.
