SP2 works, green light for the variant for the Montegrosso roundabout

Small but important steps forward by the BAT Province and the Puglia Region to restart the project relating to the first phase of the safety works on the SP2 in Canosa di Puglia. After having presented the decreasing variant in the region and after two specific meetings with the technicians of the BAT Province, the issue was also submitted to the ANAC to verify some prices of the works. An opinion from the anti-corruption agency should arrive within the next week to then allow the Province and Region to definitively restart the works concerning an initial canous stretch of the dangerous provincial road which returned to the headlines in the spring due to numerous fatal accidents . In the meantime, however, urgent safety works have been carried out with cleaning, arrangement of new jerseys and new asphalt in some sections. But this is naturally not enough to definitively make the road safe.

Still on the SP2 but in this case in the stretch between Andria and Montegrosso the process continues to see the roundabout built for permanent access to the village. The region has received the OK for a variation in the initial project and now it will be possible to proceed with the conclusion of the administrative procedure before seeing the works begin which will allow access to the mountain side and sea side to the village as well as the installation of systems of essential lighting to make the roundabout safer.
