Ravenna, soon the tender for six new taxi licenses

The publication of the tender with which six new taxi licenses will be assigned is imminent, of which two are intended for the use of vehicles equipped for the transport of seriously disabled people requiring carriages. This was communicated by the Municipality which specifies how preliminarily, during the last session, the Council established the criteria for calling the public competition itself. In particular, the value of the licenses will be 90 thousand euros, following a survey of the average value of the local market of licenses for the operation of the taxi service. A 15% discount will be provided for licenses for vehicles equipped for the transport of severely disabled people. Furthermore, the issuing of the new licenses will be linked to the use of vehicles with low environmental impact, according to the provisions in force of the European Union. Considering that it is necessary to provide a transport service as widespread as possible, there will be an obligation for holders of the new licenses to equip themselves with a technological interconnection service that allows the connection between users and taxi drivers.

All the other documents necessary for the publication of the competition notice are therefore now being prepared which, as far as the Municipality of Ravenna is concerned, will all be adopted by the end of June. The announcement must also be published in the Bulletin of the Emilia Romagna Region and, in consideration of the publication dates of the latter, the actual release, of which communication will be given, is scheduled for the very first days of July.

“We are giving a concrete response – declares the Councilor for Commerce Annagiulia Randi – to the shortage of taxis in Ravenna, a tangible and long-standing problem, and to the needs of a rapidly developing city like ours. The commitment, towards citizens and trade associations, to put the new licenses out to tender by mid-2024, after an in-depth and shared process of analysis of the situation and search for the best possible solution, within the municipal council and to the advisory commission, is almost respected. A promise kept which we are certain will be a valid response to the mobility needs of citizens, workers and tourists”.
