Noémie Serra: ‘My victory at the European Croupiers Championship was a team effort’

Moments of glory, preceded by serious preparation and above all by efficient teamwork.
Was the Monegasque Noémie Serra, representing the Monte-Carlo Casino, to win the 2024 edition of the European dealer championship organized at the Dutch Casino Venlo by the European dealer championship.
An experience that she tells Gioco News, starting by expressing the emotion she felt and identifying the qualities and circumstances that led her to this result.

“It was certainly a professional experience but above all a human one. It enriched me a lot to meet colleagues from all over Europe and interact with them.
When the results were announced I felt immense joy! It was a great satisfaction and at the same time a great surprise! I think I kept calm and had good control over stress, which meant I took great pleasure in each of my visits to the table and the juries must have felt it.”

Is there anyone you are particularly grateful to for this award?

“I couldn’t name a specific person because it’s mostly a team effort. We’re lucky to have a real training for this competition inside the Monte-Carlo Casino, so I owe this victory to our management, our teachers and my fellow adventurers.”

How did your passion for this profession arise and what are its most positive and negative aspects?

“I grew up with an adoptive father who was also involved in the game, so this job intrigued me since I was little. As soon as I started I knew that this was really what I wanted to do with my life.
The positive points in my opinion are the contact with customers, the pursuit of excellence in mastering the games, the adrenaline that certain parts are able to provide. The disadvantages would be the staggered rhythms with night work but personally I prefer this rhythm. We may also have to deal with customers who are a little difficult when they lose.”

What advice would you give to a young person who wants to start a career as a croupier?

“I would advise him to continue without hesitation but also to always try to improve so as not to fall into a routine.”

What will change in your life, if it will change, after this European award?

“I have to say that apart from having answered a few interviews, my life hasn’t changed much!”, he says, laughing. “As for what comes next I will continue my path and always try to do the best I can.”
