The meeting between Minister Bernini and the mayor of Olbia.
The Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini and the Spanish Deputy Minister of Science and Innovative Research, Juan Cruz Cigudosawill meet on Tuesday morning in Olbia to sign a letter of intent in support of the Sardinian candidacy to host theEinstein Telescope.
The mayors will also participate in the meeting Seventh Nizzi of Olbia and Mario Calia of Lula, in addition to the rectors of the universities of Cagliari and Sassari. The event will be held in the council chamber of the Municipality of Olbia, with exceptional security measures already foreseen to guarantee the peaceful development of the meeting.
Bernini’s visit strengthens his commitment to the candidacy of You are Enattos, the mining site in Lula, as the future home of the gravitational wave detector. The area has been praised for its tranquility and low population density, crucial elements for the precision of the scientific measurements needed for the Einstein Telescope.
